Located at 309 W Corsicana St, this place is open from 11 am until 3 pm every day. They have good prices, you get large services, and everything here tastes fresh and homemade. As the name would suggest, they have a great bean bar, and you don’t want to miss their cheese stixs or the amazing stuffed taters. However, the burgers are where it’s at.

Their burgers all come with a trip to the bean bar, and they are all 1/4 or 1/2 pound, hand-formed, fresh patties of Angus beef. Their Ultimate comes with mushrooms, onion, jalapenos, cheese, and bacon, but you can order a burger done here however you like and with anything you like on it. They also do an amazing patty melt with Swiss cheese on Texas Toast.

Cotton Patch Cafe

The Cotton Patch lives at 1413 E Typer St, and they’re open from 10:30 am until 10 pm on Sundays and from 11 am until 10 pm every other day. This place offers amazing drinks as well as good food, so stop here for a drink after work. When you do, please do drink responsibly and in moderation.

They have great steakhouse burgers here, all served with fries. Their classic is just that, but also really like their patty melt, which comes with caramelized onions, a bacon mayo, and Swiss cheese. Their three-cheese bacon burger is cheddar, American, and pepper jack. Be sure to get some of their fried pickles to go with your burger. Afterward, be sure to ask them for a slice of their Dr. Pepper chocolate cake!

Bensons Eats & Treats

This is a family-owned place that’s been in business feeding us here in Athens since 1949. The vibe here is relaxed and friendly, and they’re located at 319 S Palestine St. THey’re open from 10 am until 10:30 pm every day of the week. In addition to great burgers, they also have amazing ice cream choices.

The point here is quick, delicious burgers, and on Mondays, they have burger specials. Get yours with fries or tots, and be sure to ask for bacon on it. The Jalito Burger is especially good. Afterward, get their Loco Coco. You’re welcome.

If you want a place that makes burgers the main thing, be sure to try this spot at 9496-9444 on Route 59, south of town. This spot is in the Shady Oaks General Store, and they have great 1/3 pound burgers.
