Trim Levels (Exterior)
The new Sierra 2500 has five different trim levels, and they each have their own unique exterior features you'll want to consider. First, you'll find the base Pro trim, which already comes with quite a few impressive features like 17-inch steel wheels and LED exterior lights. If that's not enough, the SLE offers a six-function tailgate with EZ Lift lock-and-release functionality along with alloy wheels. For more substantial upgrades, consider the SLT, which has 18-inch alloy wheels and LED fog lights along with a rear window defogger. With the AT4 trim, the Sierra is more off-road capable with skid plates and a convenient power-sliding rear window. The top trim is known as the Denali, and it has chrome accents with stylish 20-inch chrome wheels.
Engine (Power)
Under the hood of the Sierra 2500, you'll find one of two engine options. To begin with, the Sierra can be outfitted with a 6.6-liter V-8 that produces 401 horsepower with 464 pound-feet of torque. If you're looking for something a bit more powerful, you may prefer the diesel engine. This powerhouse is a 6.6-liter Duramax V-8 that's turbocharged producing 445 horsepower and an impressive 910 pound-feet of torque
Performance
The Sierra 2500's performance is best illustrated by looking at its capability. It offers a maximum towing capacity of 20,000 pounds when you outfit it with the diesel engine option. Even with the standard engine, though, it still manages a towing capacity of 18,500 pounds. Its payload capacity is equally as impressive, reaching a maximum of 3,979 pounds.
Interior
Inside the Sierra 2500, you'll find an interior that's more upscale than you might think. The technology features are state of the art with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto coming standard on all models. Plus, this pickup can be equipped with a 120-volt outlet that can be particularly handy at the work site. In terms of space, the double cab version offers just as much room for your rear passengers as you get upfront. Additionally, you'll find under-seat storage and cubbies in the rear seatbacks.
Safety Features
Quite a few safety features have been implemented in the Sierra 2500, including high-tech driver assistance systems. Some of the most impressive include forward collision warning with automated emergency braking, lane-departure alert, and a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert. One of the more unique features is the Sierra's camera system, which has 15 different modes to choose from.
