For 2023, GMC offers eight trims for the Sierra 1500: Pro, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate. Starting with the base Pro, exterior features include a chrome front bumper, 17-inch Silver painted wheels, a CornerStep rear bumper, and cab-mounted cargo lights. Select the SLE for a GMC MultiPro Tailgate with EZ lift assist, Bright Silver wheels, heated power outside mirrors, and cargo bed LED lighting. The Elevation rolls down the road on 20-inch high-gloss Black wheels and includes body-color bumpers. Engine (Power)
Many engines are offered across the different trims of the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. First up is the base-level high-output 2.7-liter engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that produces 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The next engine is the well-known EcoTec3 5.3-liter V-8 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission putting out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The only diesel engine offered is a turbo-charged 3.0 Duramax diesel that cranks out 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. Finally, the AT4X offers an exclusive 6.2-liter V-8 that generates 420 horsepower.
Performance
To help out with fuel efficiency, GMC adds automatic stop/start technology that will shut down the engine at idle to save gas. Beginning with the SLE, you will find an automatic locking rear differential and an optional Cat-Back performance exhaust system. For most trims, the standard drivetrain is rear-wheel drive, but to tow more, haul more, and tackle inclement conditions and rough terrain, go with the optional four-wheel drive. Finally, the made for the off-road AT4 will give you Rancho monotube shocks and an off-road suspension system capable of towing 9,000 pounds.
Interior
The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 works hard but also has plush interior features. Starting with the SLT trim, you get a 12.3-inch driver information center and a 13.4-inch color touchscreen display, while the Elevation gets you heated front seats. Go with the AT4 to get a wireless charger, heated and ventilated front seats, and a leather heated steering wheel.
