With five available trim levels, it's easy to find the version of the Silverado HD that fits your needs best. The base level is known as the WT, or Work Truck, and it already comes with exciting exterior features such as a trailer hitch with a seven-pin connector, integrated bed steps, and bumper corner steps. At the Custom trim level, you also get power-adjustable trailering mirrors and 20-inch machined aluminum wheels. Upgrade to the LT trim, and you can enjoy chrome bumpers and an EZ Lift tailgate. Meanwhile, the LTZ trim boasts impressive 18-inch alloy wheels, a side bed step, rear wheelhouse liners, and heated adjustable trailering mirrors. Plus, the headlights, taillights, and fog lights are all LED. Finally, the High Country trim comes with a host of luxurious features including a power up/down tailgate, a power-sliding rear window, a spray-in bedliner, and four movable cargo bed tie-downs.

Two engine options are available for the Silverado HD, and they both pack a serious punch. The 6.6-liter V-8 engine is remarkably powerful with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque and is mated with a six-speed automatic transmission. The other engine option is a 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V-8 engine with 445 horsepower and an astounding 910 pound-feet of torque. It comes paired with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission.

The essence of performance with the Silverado HD lies in its capability, and it certainly has enough to be competitive. The 2500 HD, for example, offers a maximum towing capacity of 18,510 pounds when properly equipped. Opt for the 3500 HD, however, and the maximum towing gets boosted to an incredible capacity of 36,000 pounds, which is among the highest in its class. This is only possible with the diesel engine and its elevated torque.

Inside the Silverado HD, you'll find plenty of exciting features including expansive interior cubby storage and a giant center console bin. You can even opt for bins built into the backs of the rear seat cushions and a special additional storage compartment under the rear row of seats. The integrated technology is also quite impressive, as this truck features the Chevy Infotainment 3 system along with standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Silverado HD also features wireless charging and Wi-Fi hotspot capability.

Quite a few safety features are available with the Silverado HD, including a multiview camera system and a transparent mode for use when trailering. Driver assistance systems like forward collision warning with automated emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert are also available. You can even opt for a lane-departure warning system if you like.
