Next, you can choose the optional 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel V-8 that cranks out 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. Regardless of the engine or trim, you can opt for a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission instead of the six-speed one. While rear-wheel drive is the default option, four-wheel drive is available for all trims. The exception is the High Country, which comes standard with four-wheel drive.
Performance
Maximum payload and towing capacity are among the most essential features when talking about a heavy-duty truck, if not the most important. To that end, a properly equipped Silverado HD can pull a maximum of 36,000 pounds, more than enough to haul your camper on your next adventure or equipment to the next job site. Depending on the configuration you ultimately select, the maximum payload capacity is 7,442 pounds. Other exciting performance features include the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with traction control, a heavy-duty air filter, and a suspension package.
Interior
Starting at the base WT, you find a four-way manual driver and passenger seat, a two-speaker audio system, a rear vision camera, and Bluetooth connectivity. Opting for the LT gives you remote keyless entry, carpeted floors, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and steering-wheel-mounted controls. Meanwhile, the Custom gets you rear air vents, a six-speaker audio system, and an optional infotainment package.
Moving up to the LTZ adds upgrades such as driver's seat memory settings, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's and passenger seat, HD rear vision camera, and dual-zone climate control. Last but not least, the High Country offers ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a universal home remote.
