2021 Chevrolet Traverse

The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse comes in seven trim levels: L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, Premier, and High Country. From the outside, the L trim shows off automatic high-intensity discharge headlights, a dual-outlet exhaust, power and heated side mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheels, black rocker moldings and matching accents, a manual liftgate, and LED daytime running lights. With the LS Trim, you get dark-tinted rear privacy glass and access to several option packages. Both LT trim levels come standard with roof rails and fog lights, while the LT Leather trim has an optional package that includes a set of 20-inch wheels. Choose the RS trim to get blacked-out trim elements and 20-inch wheels with a dark finish. The Premier trim includes LED headlights and a hands-free liftgate. With the top High Country trim, equipment includes a panoramic sunroof and several towing features, including a hitch.

All seven trim levels of the 2021 Traverse include the same 3.6-liter V-6 engine, which makes 266 pound-feet of torque and 310 horsepower. It works with a nine-speed automatic transmission that powers the front wheels. All-wheel drive is available as an option on all trims but the base L trim. If you frequently drive in slick or icy road conditions, the upgrade to AWD is likely worthwhile.

The capable V-6 engine delivers quick acceleration, making it easy to get up to freeway speeds and pass other cars. In speed testing, the Traverse went from zero to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds, which is quite impressive for a three-row SUV. Precise steering and responsive brakes round out the appealing performance elements, while an adjustable transmission can improve the fuel-efficiency as you drive.

The spacious cabin of the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse has plenty of room for people and cargo, making it an excellent option for larger families and those who need to transport a lot of stuff. You can seat up to eight in the cabin, while the maximum cargo space tops out at 98.2 cubic feet. Inside the base trim, you'll find cloth upholstery, a 7-inch touch screen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, tri-zone climate control, an onboard Wi-Fi hot spot, and manually adjustable front seats. Each of the higher trim levels has its own list of appealing comfort, convenience, and tech features. Comfort options include heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, heated second-row seats, a heated and power-adjustable steering wheel, and power-folding seats in the third row. On the tech side, you can get a wireless charging pad, a premium 10-speaker audio system, a larger 8-inch touch screen, and navigation.

All 2021 Traverse models come with a rearview camera, advanced air bags throughout the cabin, anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, OnStar emergency telecommunications, and Teen Driver settings. The LT trims include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors. You can also add the Chevy Safety Assist package, which bundles lane-keep assist and forward collision mitigation, while standalone options include upgraded automatic braking, a 360-degree camera system, and adaptive cruise control.
